Good questions. Straight answers.

Why would I require a professional writer?

You want your business to succeed. You hire the best developers you can to create your product, the smartest marketing staff to plan your rollout strategy, and the most on-the-ball salespeople to get your product into the hands of your customers.

Why wouldn't you also choose the very best communications professional to help your company speak to its customers, clients or partners? A professional writer can help you speak clearly to your audience, accurately and impactfully projecting your intended message.

Simply put, your message is your company.

Why can't we produce our materials in-house?

There's no reason why you can't. However, your staff may not include professional copy or technical writers, or the writers you have may be swamped with other important projects.

A freelance writer provides you the flexibility to use an expert precisely when you need one.

In the current recession, isn't it financially prudent to have our marketing or customer service employees write our materials?

Only if you're willing to accept the potential compromise in the quality of your materials. A professional writer has experience in creating materials from your customer's point of view, and the practiced ability to generate clear, concise copy more efficiently. Again, your message is your company, and will impact your bottom line.

Also, using a freelance writer allows you to get the job done without impacting your long-term payroll.

What are your specialties?

I am skilled in many facets of writing, including technical documentation, marketing brochures and sales collateral, newsletters, articles, web content, catalogs and programs. If it's in English, I can help you create it.

My background in the computer industry has provided me with strong understanding of hardware and software concepts. My experience in the entertainment sphere helps keep my writing current and direct.

How do you work?

After our initial consultation, I will submit a timeline and project dependencies for your approval. Following interviews of information sources and study of pertinent materials, I begin the process of concepting, outlining and writing.

Because I know that your vision of the project may change, revisions are expected and included in the process (the number of revisions included is dependent on the nature of the project). Finally, the project is complete when you approve the finished copy.

Obviously, this is a loose outline and the details may vary with the project. I am very flexible and can easily adapt to your style.

What do you charge?

The price of a project is dependent on the size and scope of the project, as well as other dependencies. While I can quote a guaranteed flat fee for most projects, I can also provide an hourly rate where desired.

You will find my rates very competitive, and much less than you would pay an agency or a full-time staff writer. To determine my rate for your project, I'd be pleased to meet with you for a free, no-obligation consultation.
